Dates: August 9, 10 + 16, 17 + 23, 24 from 11 am – 4:30 pm
Participants:Intermediate & Advanced actors. Apply with picture and resume if you have not studied with Bernadette previously. And 1 – 2 screenwriters with advanced original screenplays in development with a producer. Only 8 actors will be selected for this intensive.
Focus for the actors: This will be a chance to develop a role from an original script. And be part of and gain insight into script development, and therefore script writing.
- Exploring the development of ‘character’.
- Working with the scene dynamics between characters.
- Learning how to make strong choices for character and the scene from the actor’s point of view.
- Scene analysis from the actor’s perspective.

An insight into screenplay in development and structure.

Learning to start with what you ‘bring to the table’ re character development and choices; then how to take direction in a scene.

A record of your development in your scenes over the 3 week intensive on DVD.
Focus for the screenwriter(s): This is an opportunity to have scenes from their original screenplay worked with professional actors and director, to further develop and to assist in putting ‘the polish’ on a script.
ACTRA/Apprentices: $419.25 and Non-Union $495.

In order to get to act, you need to ‘get the job’. A major focus for me for the last number of years has been to teach the skills that will give you confidence and courage when you do get the opportunity to express yourself in a role at the audition. Once again, I am offering you a chance to say ‘yes’ to further developing these skills. Here are your choices:
DAY – Monday (A) Sept 15 – Oct 6 and/or (B) Oct 13 – Nov 3

This workshop is an introduction to and practice of specific on camera audition skills developed by Bernadette and influenced by the work of Michael Shurtleff.A hit at the ACTRA Conference! Using contemporary TV & film scripts, the actors will experience what it takes to feel that they have done the best audition possible. The actors will also learn how to set themselves up psychologically and physically to “own the role”. This workshop is also ideal for experienced actors moving from stage to film.
Not suitable for beginner actors.

WEEKEND AUDITION INTENSIVE
On Camera Audition Skills Weekend with Bernadette Jones September 12, 13 & 14 - 2008
Auditions will make up the greatest percentage of an actor’s working life. It is important to master the skills that will make the difference. You will learn what can make the difference between a mediocre and a dynamite audition. Learn to take charge of your audition experiences and not be the victim of them!
